We went for Christmas to this beautiful hotel with our fur baby dog. We couldn't have wished for anything better, the rooms are beautiful, very warm if wanted, food outstanding & they even give our doggy a cut up sausage at breakfast every member of staff worked extremely hard & always a smile on their face which is unusual in the UK. Nothing was too much trouble. It's in a fantastic spot with beautiful views & great walks straight from the hotel. Local pubs very nearby as well. We met lots of doggy friends all very well behaved & their owners were too We will definitely return, thankyou & a happy new year to all staff members.

Having dined here a year ago myself and partner really wanted to go back . This time we had a couple of nights stay . Definitely not disappointed. The rooms are outstanding ! We had room 12 . It was superb. All the food both the breakfast and the evening meals were piping hot and utterly delicious. So many dishes to choose from . The staff seemed happy , it felt luxurious yet relaxed , it looks very beautiful with all the decor yet all the guests were dressed with a mix of walking gear to casual . It had all the facilities one might need for cleaning up after a day on the fells along with dog friendly areas . How this hotel is 3 star is beyond me . If I was picky … the only thing was the condiments were the single sachet type which would have been nice to have had a little jar or dish of mayo etc That said ,would that stop me going back … definitely not .. we’re already looking at when we’re can sneak a trip in . ⭐

The rooms are excellent, ours had its own terrace, and the hotel really does cater for dogs very well. Breakfast is a different matter but we can’t really complain as the price we paid is worth it for the room alone. The seats in the restaurant need a clean which is so simple with a steam cleaner. Stains, watermarks and dirt could easily be removed. Get someone in who can cook a full English breakfast ( cooking an egg properly would be a start) and they are onto a winner.

We went here as a large group on New Year's Eve. As a big group we were a bit loud, they sensibly tucked us away slightly out of the main restaurant area. The staff were brilliant, very patient and accommodating, the service was very good particularly considering we were a big group. The food was outstanding. Definitely the best Xmas dinner I've had.

My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying here, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, and the rooms were comfortable, well-appointed and well kept. As first-time visitors, we were thoroughly impressed and look forward to returning in the future. We also appreciated that the property is dog-friendly, and the views are truly outstanding. Thank you to the staff who served breakfast each morning with light hearted jokes and genuinely approachable - one lady in fact we didn’t get her name unfortunately but she was in fact the reason we will return as each morning she was very polite and again we thank you for making our trip memorable.

Staying in our motorhome at a site across the road. Called in for couple of beers a few nights and great ambience and fantastic staff. Was recommended it for Sunday lunch so decided to book. Wow, food was excellent, so much flavour and great portions. Again all the staff were excellent, I really cannot recommend this place enough and look forward to our next trip in this area because will definitely head back to ruddings for drinks and food.

Brilliant, dog friendly hotel. Booked as I was bringing my dog. Large garden space at the back of the property for dogs to run around, poo bin there as well. The dog washing station has towels was perfect after a big walk. The breakfast and dinner was excellent too. Lovely rooms and bathrooms, and beautiful view of the hills.
